NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
TO DESTROY WEEDS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on November 15 2016, pursuant to the provisions of Section 11.20.020 of the Town Code of the Town of Los Gatos, the Town Council of said Town adopted a Resolution (2016-066) declaring that all weeds growing upon any private property or in any street, sidewalk or alley, as defined in Section 11.20.010 of such Code, constitute a public nuisance, which nuisance must be abated by the destruction or removal thereof.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that property owners shall, within thirty (30) days after the adoption of such resolution, or within the time specified in a written agreement with the Director of Parks and Public Works of the Town of Los Gatos, or the Director of Parks and Public Works’ representative, whichever time shall be later, remove all such weeds from their property, the abutting sidewalks, and the abutting half of the street in front, and alleys, if any, behind such property, and between the lot lines thereof as extended, or such weeds will be destroyed or removed and such nuisance abated by the Town of Los Gatos, in which case the cost of such destruction or removal will be assessed upon the lots and lands from which, or from the front or rear of which, such weeds shall have been destroyed or removed, and such cost will constitute a lien upon such lots or lands until paid; and will be collected upon the next tax roll upon which general municipal taxes are collected. All property owners having any objections to the proposed destruction or removal of such weeds are hereby notified to attend a meeting of the Town Council of such Town to be held in the Council Chambers of said Town, at 110 East Main Street, TUESDAY, JANUARY 17th, 2017, AT 7:00 P.M. or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, when and where their objections will be heard and given due consideration.

PROJECT: POTENTIAL CHANGES TO THE NORTH FORTY SPECIFIC PLAN, GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT GP-17-001
On November 17, 2016, the Town’s General Plan Committee (GPC) completed its review and discussion of the Town Council suggestions for potential changes to the North Forty Specific Plan. The potential amendments are intended to be specific, require no additional environmental analysis, and require no modifications to the Town’s certified Housing Element of the General Plan. The intention is not a rewrite of the entire Plan. The video of the November GPC meeting is available at: http://www.losgatosca.gov/GPC111716. The suggestions were identified at a Special Meeting of the Town Council on September 27, 2016. The General Plan Committee discussed all of the ideas and provided recommendations on the Council’s suggestions, as well as additional items proposed by Committee members and by the public. The GPC recommendations were the basis for detailed amendments to the Specific Plan for consideration during the public hearing at the special December 15, 2016 Planning Commission meeting (video available at: http://www.losgatosca.gov/PC121516). The item was continued to a special January 26, 2017 meeting, with a start time of 7:00 p.m.

This item will also be heard by the Town Council (no tentative date).

2017 BUSINESS TAX AND LICENSING
BUSINES LICENSE RENEWALS FOR ALL BUSINESSES INCLUDING
HOME-BASED BUSINESSES

Business license taxes were due January 3, 2017. As a courtesy, reminder notices were mailed in December 2016. Per Town Code Section 14.10.075, a 25% late penalty will be assessed on February 3, 2017 if payment is not received by February 2, 2017. For more information, call (408) 354-6835.
