Rebate Updates & Programs

Before purchasing equipment or beginning any project, customers should check eligibility requirements at: www.valleywater.org or call the Water Conservation Hotline. Certain restrictions apply and funding may be limited:
Landscape Conservation Rebate Program
Rebate for converting high water using landscapes to low water using landscapes is $1.00 per square foot. These costs may be higher in some cost-sharing retailer areas.

Landscape Rebate Program
Several irrigation hardware rebates have doubled. Residents may receive up to $1,000 for landscape meters, flow sensors and hydrometers.

Weather based irrigation controllers are now eligible for a rebate of up to $1,000 per controller that serves 13 to 24 stations and $2,000 per controller that serves 25 or more stations. Rebates for controllers with 1 to 12 stations remain up to $300 per controller.

Graywater Laundry to Landscape Rebate Program
Rebates for residential sites that properly connect a clothes washer to a graywater irrigation system have doubled to $200. Please visit Gray Water for Landscape  for more information.

Commercial Rebate Programs
Commercial rebates are available for qualifying businesses, apartment complexes and schools in Santa Clara County for air-cooled ice machines, and connectionless food steamers. Rebates that have increased include:
  • Businesses that replace or update equipment which results in a measurable water reduction may receive a rebate of $8.00 per 100 cubic feet of water saved per year, or 50 percent of the project cost, whichever is less. That is double the previous rebate amount.
  • Connectionless commercial food steamers can earn a rebate of up to $1,000 per compartment, up from $485.
