cell phone.jpg New Cell Phone Law - Effective July 1
The Los Gatos/Monte Sereno will be enforcing the new "hands-free" and "hands-off" cell phone laws effective July 1.  The fine for violating the new cell phone law is $20 for the first ticket and $50 for subsequent violations.  Motorists over 18 may use a hands-free device to make or take calls, but persons 17 and younger are prohibited from using a phone.  Read more about the new cell phone law.

Fireworks in Santa Clara County
The sale and use of all fireworks, including "Safe & Sane" fireworks, is prohibited throughout Santa Clara County, including all unincorporated areas, except in the City of Gilroy where the sale and use of state-approved fireworks is permitted.  Read more about firework safety tips.

Los Gatos New Library Project- Check it Out!
On April 7, the Council authorized the Town Manager to move forward with conceptual design services for a new Library. As the Town launches the planning for the new Library, there will be many opportunities for the community to ask questions and provide input.  Click here for answers to Frequently Asked Questions.

tv.jpgWill Your TV Work Next Year?
After February 17, 2009, most television stations will broadcast only in digital. If you use rabbit ears or a rooftop antenna with your analog TV, you will need a certified TV converter box in order to watch TV. Affected households may receive two $40 coupons to offset the cost of the converters. Learn more about the DTV Transition Program and Converter Coupon Program
