The Town of Los Gatos, in cooperation with the Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce, presents Leadership Los Gatos, a program for people of all backgrounds and interests who wish to become more involved in the community. The mission of Leadership Los Gatos is to engage, educate and develop Los Gatos citizens for leadership roles in community and neighborhood organizations, schools, churches, and Town government.

The Program
Leadership Los Gatos includes 9 sessions held on the first Friday of every month from October through June. Leadership Los Gatos discussion topics include, but are not limited to:
§ Leadership Development
§ Role of Town Government in the Community
§ Presentation and Communication Skills
§ Land Use and Economic Vitality
§ Ethical Decision Making
§ Local Infrastructure and Resident-Serving Utilities
§ Public Safety and Disaster Preparedness
Class participants will also be required to complete a variety of assignments, including attending Town Council meetings, participating in a LGMS Police Ride-along, and Community Unity volunteer project.

Application, Tuition, and Fees
The application deadline for the 2008/09 Leadership Los Gatos program is Friday, August 29, 2008. The program tuition is $400 per participant. Tuition received after August 24 will increase to $450. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance status no later than September 8. Applicants not accepted to the program will receive a full tuition refund.
