A potential short-term rental ordinance will be discussed at the February 5, 2019 Town Council meeting.
At the October 2, 2018 Town Council meeting, Council directed staff to refer the short-term rental item to the Policy Committee for further discussion. On December 20, 2018 the Policy Committee recommended Council approval of a draft ordinance. The Town seeks community input on this issue. The draft ordinance can be accessed here. Short-term rental is the practice of renting out a portion of, or an entire home, to a person or group of people for a period of less than 30 nights. In recent years, there has been exponential growth through "sharing economy" websites such as Airbnb and VRBO.
