for the
North 40 Specific Plan Study Session
June 15, 2016, 6:00 p.m.


A joint Study Session with the Town Council, Planning Commission, and affected School Boards provides an opportunity to have questions answered by staff experts about the North 40 Specific Plan and related planning documents.  The Study Session has been scheduled for Wednesday, June 15, 2016 beginning at 6:00 p.m. The study session will be held in the Town Council Chambers located at 110 E. Main Street.

The purposes of the Study Session are to:
  • Provide information and fact sharing on the North 40 Specific Plan, Housing Element, and Environmental Impact Report
  • Provide an opportunity to ask questions and receive answers related to legal questions, housing questions, traffic, and schools
Questions and comments are welcome to be submitted prior to the Study Session.  To the extent possible, responses will be posted in advance of the Study Session at www.LosGatosCA.Gov/N40SP.  To submit questions about the North 40 Specific Plan, please email North40.question@LosGatosca.gov  To submit comments about the North 40 Specific Plan, please email North40.comment@LosGatosCA.gov.

North 40 Phase 1-Story Pole Update


The story poles for the Phase 1 development proposal for the North 40 Specific Plan Area have been installed and will remain in place through July 2, 2016 pursuant to the story pole modification granted by the Town Council in February 2016.

The purpose of story poles is to inform the public that a planning application is pending for the property and that the public is welcome to submit comments on the proposal to the Town. The North 40 story poles were certified as to the accuracy of their location and height on May 4, 2016. 

As required by the February modification, all poles will remain in place for 60 days from the certification and will come down after July 2, 2016. The approved story pole modification plan and action minutes from the February 16, 2016 Town Council meeting are available on the Town Website.

The Town encourages the community to view the story poles from the public right-of-way on Lark Avenue and Los Gatos Boulevard because the property is private with homes and businesses still in place.

401-409 Alberto Way Environmental Impact Report Available for Public Comment
Public Comment Period expires on June 13, 2016


The EIR for the proposed project at 401-409 Alberto Way is available for review on-line.
The EIR can also be viewed in the Community Development Department and the Town Clerk’s office at 110 E. Main Street, or at the reference desk in the Town Library, located at 100 Villa Avenue.

The public comment period is 45 days and will expire on June 13, 2016, at 5:00 pm. Written comments should be submitted to the Community Development Department. A public hearing on this matter is tentatively scheduled for June 8, 2016, at 7:00 P.M. in the Town Council Chambers at 110 E. Main Street.

Safe Routes To School Traffic and Parking Study
Share Your Ideas on Traffic Around Schools 
May 17, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.


The Town of Los Gatos, the Los Gatos Union Elementary School District, the Los Gatos –Saratoga Joint Union High School District, and Hillbrook School have partnered to improve traffic around local schools. The project is looking at ways of creating Safe Routes to School, to help alleviate vehicle traffic congestion, and to manage parking. Join the team for an opportunity to provide your input.

The  drop in open house style meeting is open to all residents and all grades K-12. The next meeting is scheduled for:

  • May 17 - from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Daves Avenue Multi Purpose Room

At the meetings you will see Walk and Roll Maps, recommended infrastructure improvements, and other ideas to help improve traffic and safety.  Don’t miss this chance to provide input.

Memorial Proposals for the Town of Los Gatos
Veterans Memorial
Public Comment Period: April 20-June 3, 2016


The Town of Los Gatos is working with the Veterans Memorial & Support Foundation of Los Gatos to commission a Veterans Memorial at the Town of Los Gatos Civic Center.

The Veterans Memorial will honor and recognize the courage, loyalty, dedication, commitment and sacrifice of those who have served to defend America’s freedom and will offer a site of contemplation for reflection and remembrance.  The memorial will be located at the Town of Los Gatos Civic Center, and is proposed to be located in the Redwood Grove located in the southwest corner of the Civic Center lawn fronting Main Street and immediately adjacent to Pageant Way.
