Emergency Volunteer Center Training

During a disaster or other emergency, The Town may activate it's Emergency Volunteer Center (EVC) to provide a way for community members to help out and to manage volunteer efforts.

 When a disaster or emergency strikes, the Los Gatos and Monte Sereno Communities step up looking for ways to help. The Emergency Volunteer Center (EVC) is a program we use to coordinate spontaneous volunteers. Community members who sign up during a disaster are letting us know that they are ready and willing to help.

To run a successful Emergency Volunteer Center (EVC) we need community members who are pre-trained to staff the center.

Incident Command System Training

We recommend that all CERT members learn about the Incident Command System (ICS) and NIMS. FEMA offers web-based training, so that you can complete the courses at your convenience:
