Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) Permits

Individuals who reside in the jurisdiction of the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department may apply for a Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) license. As part of the application process, the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department established a background process broken down into three phases.  You may click on the links and scroll through the information for more details on obtaining a CCW license. Please read the information carefully so that you fully understand the requirements of obtaining a CCW license before submitting your application.

CCW PROCESS*
PHASE ONE

Complete Application

Submit Fingerprints at DOJ Livescan location of your choice

Applicant Interview

  • Scheduled with Chief of Police or Designee
  • Link to schedule will be sent to applicants when they reach this step
PHASE TWO

Complete Psychological Review

  • Applicant shall be referred to authorized psychologist
  • Psychological Fee not to exceed $150.00 paid by the applicant
  • Link to Psychological Review will be sent by Psychologist when applicants reach this step

Background Review

  • Completed by Chief of Police or Designee
PHASE THREE

Complete 16 hour CCW training course

  • Shall be a department approved firearms course (Approved Vendor List)
  • Provide proof of completion to Chief of Police  or Designee
  • Course and Inspection Fees paid by applicant
APPROVAL/DENIAL

Once the Chief of Police or authorized designee has verified the successful completion of phase three, the license to carry a firearm will either be granted or denied. The final payment of fees must be paid before the license will be issued. The applicant will be notified by email of the decision and will be provided a date to pick up their license and provide final payments.
