Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Explorer Program
Explorer Post
The Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Explorers is a volunteer program with the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department. This program allows young men and women between the ages of 14 and 21 the opportunity to learn more about the criminal justice field, while serving their community.
About the Program
The program is service oriented. Explorers assist with clerical assignments, assist with traffic and crowd control, work alongside police personnel at community events, and have the opportunity to ride with officers in the field.
In order to be admitted to the program, interested young participants must maintain at least an "C" average in school, be of good standing in the community, and have no felony convictions. All Explorers must pass an interview and
background investigation and complete an Explorer training program where they will be taught discipline and principles of law enforcement.
