General Plan 2040 Update
The General Plan update is a pivotal opportunity to shape the future of Los Gatos.  Through this process the Town and community will consider many pertinent topics, including transportation, mobility, housing, environmental, justice, public health, and others to ensure Los Gatos is positioned to achieve its vision for the future. Visit the www.losgatos2040.com website which will serve as a platform to access all materials related to the process, including documents developed, meeting dates and times, and other information.

Green Business Certification
Since 2007, the Town organization has been certified as a Green Business by Santa Clara County. To be certified as "green," the Town must be in compliance with all regulations and meet program standards for conserving resources, preventing pollution, and minimizing waste. The key goals of the program are to promote resource conservation and pollution prevention.

Green Monday
In an effort to reduce our environmental impact, the Town of Los Gatos adopted Green Monday on December 17, 2019.  Green Monday require all meals served at Town facilities, council meetings, and events held on Mondays be completely free of animal products.  Green Monday is both a day and a national organization, with a goal to encourage communities to make healthier choices for both themselves and the planet. Plant-based Advocates is a local Los Gatos grassroots group looking to mitigate climate change through encouraging a plant-based diet. For more information and additional resources, visit our Resources page.

Formally CaliforniaFIRST, Renew Pace Program is the Town's provider for the property assessed clean energy (PACE) finance program. This state-wide program was developed by the California Statewide Communities Development Authority (California Communities), a Joint Powers Authority co-sponsored by the League of California Cities and the California State Association of Counties. PACE programs allow property owners in the Town of Los Gatos to finance the installation of energy and water improvements on their home or business and pay the amount back as a line item on their property tax bill. Downtown Recycling Expansion Program
The purpose of the Downtown Recycling Expansion Program is to divert items that would otherwise end up in the landfill, discourage litter, and help keep our local creeks clean and pollution free.  The below map highlights all phases of the Downtown Recycling Expansion Program.
