August 11, 2022 Business License Modernization Special Town Council Meeting

The Town Council will hold a Special Meeting at 3:00 p.m. on August 11, 2022 via teleconference to consider a business license modernization ballot measure.

The community is invited to attend and comments may be emailed to BLModernization@losgatosca.gov.  The agenda and reports will be published no later than 24 hours prior to the meeting at www.LosGatosCA.gov/AgendasAndVideos.

Adopted 2040 General Plan & FAQs Now Available!

On June 30, 2022, in accordance with State law (Gov. Code Section 65300), the Town Council voted to adopt the Draft 2040 General Plan with modifications after several public hearings at both the Planning Commission and Town Council.

This process is a responsibility of each planning agency and Council in California.

The adopted 2040 General Plan and an FAQ document are now available at www.LosGatos2040.com. An interactive version will be posted in the coming months.

Overnight Roadwork on Los Gatos Boulevard & Lark Avenue

The North 40 project’s contractor will be performing an overnight road resurfacing project on Los Gatos Boulevard (between Lark Ave and Burton Rd) and on Lark Avenue (from Los Gatos Blvd to Hwy 17 overcrossing) from August 1 - 5 and 8 - 10, 2022.

The permitted working hours are from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.   Thank you for your patience as this important work is completed.

Beach Season (and Traffic) is Here

As the summer weather arrives, so too does the summer beach traffic. Since Highway 17 has limited capacity, many motorists attempt to save time by using alternate routes through Town and the mapping apps have not helped.

County of Santa Clara Launches 988 Phone Number Dedicated to Crisis Mental Health Services

Santa Clara County has launched a lifeline phone number for people to call in times of mental health or substance use crisis, with teams of trained counselors available 24/7 to offer support by phone or in-person, depending on the nature of the situation.

Lane Closures on State Route 9 in Monte Sereno: June 15 - August

The California Department of Transportation (CalTrans) will perform daytime closures at the intersection of State Route 9 and Austin Way, in the City of Monte Sereno in order to safely construct the Bike Safety Improvement Project.

Lane closures begin June 15 and are scheduled to be complete by August 2022. Lane closures will be northbound and southbound Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
